Janine Small, a lifelong Vermont resident, embodies a deep connection to the state's waters. Growing up in Southern Vermont, she spent summers fishing Lake Bomoseen, fostering a passion ignited by her father, Donnie. He introduced her to fly fishing over 35 years ago on the Cold River, beneath a historic covered bridge. Janine has since honed her skills under exceptional mentors, including fly fishing pioneer Joan Wulff. A dedicated advocate, she volunteered for many years with Casting for Recovery and co-founded Hope on the Rise, providing fly fishing retreats for women cancer survivors. As a licensed New York state fishing guide and seasoned social worker with 25 years of clinical experience, Janine seamlessly blends her passion for angling with her commitment to helping others.
