CRO fly fishing school offers a range of courses, from a quick 2-hour introduction to multi-day immersive experiences, catering to all skill levels. Experienced instructors teach fundamental techniques like casting and knot tying, progressing to advanced skills like rigging techniques, fly selection and reading water. With additional on-site lodging and a welcoming atmosphere, it's an ideal destination for beginners and seasoned anglers alike to learn and explore Vermont's renowned fishing waters.
The Basics:
Begin your fly fishing adventure with a guided exploration of gear, flies, and casting, all put into practice on our scenic pond.
2-HOUR Overview: $100 per person/ $50 per additional person
On the Water & Beyond:
Extend your learning with this two-day immersive experience. Building upon our 'On The Water' curriculum, you'll enjoy an entire additional day of hands-on fishing and in-depth instruction on the water and target different species in different types of water (warm & cold).
2 DAYS: $600 one person/ $900 two people/ $1200 three people
The Fundamentals:
Go beyond the basics with this expanded session, featuring ample time for hands-on practice and personalized review. We'll delve deeper into casting mechanics and fly selection, and you'll experience the feel of different rod types.
3-4 HOURS: $200 per person/ $100 per additional person
Private Instruction:
Experience the power of focused, individualized instruction. Our private sessions provide dedicated attention to your casting and fishing techniques. We'll analyze your current skills, identify areas for improvement, and implement targeted strategies to enhance your accuracy, presentation, and overall angling success. Whether you want to perfect your dry fly presentation or master the art of reading water, we will guide you every step of the way.

Women’s Fly Fishing School:
This women's fly fishing school in Vermont and New York offers an immersive weekend experience with expert guides, covering all aspects of fly fishing from knots and casting to actual river fishing on the East Creek and Battenkill River. The all-inclusive package, ranging from $450 to $650 depending on lodging (private rooms, glamping, or camping), includes family style meals, equipment, and evening social activities, all within a supportive and fun environment, complete with a hot tub.
On The Water:
Building on the Fundamentals, this course includes extensive on-stream instruction and guided practice, allowing you to apply your knowledge in real-world fishing scenarios.
7-8 HOURS: $300 per person/ $150 per additional person

Since 2012, Hope on the Rise has offered no-cost fly fishing retreats to women at any stage and with any type of cancer. Our retreats are currently being held in in Vermont and serve women throughout the New England and New York. HOTR is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
Our Hope on the Rise (HOTR) retreats offer participants an opportunity to learn the essentials of fly fishing. As our weekend retreats unfold, a journey of healing begins. Participants immerse themselves in the excitement of a new adventure. Their worries fade with the cadence of their first cast. Friendships emerge and lives are enriched by the sharing of experiences. There is reflection, anticipation… hope.
